December Beer Tasting Social

December 10 is our next beer VIRTUAL tasting with Iowa Brewing Company! Click for Tickets Invite and forward to your friends (Copy/paste this text into your email)!

Hang out with us on December 10th at 7:00 PM (Zoom opens 6:45 - 8:30PM)

Enjoy great beer, good company, learn about Iowa Brewing Company, and learn about/support our Rotary community service projects!

Participants will be able to pick up their beer gift pack from Iowa Brewing Company the Wednesday and Thursday Dec 9 & 10 from 4-6pm. Each gift pack will include 6 beers, a commemorative beer glass, snacks and tasting notes.

The night of the event the brew master will tell us all about the history of the company, walk us through what it takes to make the beer and give us tasting notes for maximum enjoyment.

Foundation Rotary Rush is ON! Dec > Feb

District 5970 “Rotary Rush” is on! For the months of December 2020, January 2021 and February 2021 the District is offering a significant incentive to all Rotarians who give to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund.

MyRotary.org shows your current giving progress, or contact Bob Schell to see how close you are to your first or next "Paul Harris Fellow level". Rotarians who are close to another PHF award will be contacted by Bob.

Club Positions are Available - Consider....

We have some open club positions. Club leadership builds your skills. These are essential for Rotary to serve our community and beyond. Please consider these positions.

Our club becomes very busy in January - All hands are needed in 2021. Talk to Theresa or Mary about any of these positions!

Youth Programs Director: This open position leads our members on the following areas. These 4 are TENATIVE positions or team roles to also consider.

College Scholarship promotion/selection. Promote Sunrise Rotary scholarships to schools in January, collect student applications, run one selection meeting of Members in April/May and represent Sunrise Rotary at the awards (if scheduled by schools).
RYLA (~HS) and/or Young RYLA (~MS) for Summer 2021. Recruiting campaign is through our members (and schools? tbd). Begins in January.
International Exchange Student recruiting (outbound). Coordinate inbound exchange student while here. This does not happen every year and is TENATIVE for 2021.
Sunrise Youth Protection Officer of record. Monitor good practices of our youth engagements. One is required in the club, to enable above programs.

Sunrise Club President for Rotary Year 2022-2023 (Serving July 1 2022 - June 30 2023).

Highly recommend attending multi-District virtual training called "PETS" in March 2021. Website.
Be active on the board starting in 2021.
Serve as President Elect July 2021 for 1 year.
Serve as President July 2022 for 1 year.

Make-A-Wish Golf committee members

Planning starts in January
We are targeting the event for Thursday May 27 2021 and depends on Covid19 status in the community.
Encouraging members to recruit 4-somes and sponsors.
Tracking all openings and committments.
Event day volunteers.
