  • Matthew 25 Transform Week was completed last week. If you served to help our community, Thank You!
  • Our Meetings are at Matthew 25. (Zoom option continues)  Stay after if you need a Sunrise Rotary golf shirt - we will hand those out. ​​​​​​​
Sunrise Rotary Club President Changes
 
Theresa Mickelson stepped up to President of our club, effective July 1.  She awarded the president plaque to outgoing President Mary Schell.   Thank you Mary for your work during this challenging past year! 
 
 
We also recognized Anne Wilson, Co-President 2019-2020 with her plaque. Thank you Anne!
 
Sunrise Rotarian of the Year Award
Eric Harris is our Rotarian of the Year for 2020-2021.   
 
Eric has volunteered as our Membership Chair and since January as our Make-A-Wish Golf Event Chair.  Thank you Eric for your service to our club and our community!!
Karen Nemecek - Paul Harris Award
Karen Nemecek - our Club Treasurer - recieved her third Paul Harris Award.   Thank you for supporting Rotary Foundation, Karen!  
Sunrise Rotary Grants - Our 3 Requests
These grant requests were submitted June 14. We should know awarded grants in August.
  • AbbeHealth/Aging Services - Connecting the older folks in our commuity to others (like ourselves!)
  • ChildServe - Provding learning tools for this organization to serve their kids.
  • Cathering McAuley Center - Engaging children of immigrants while their parents are in classes.
 
Megan Lenss - Exchange Student Update
Megan will join us in July. Megan Lenss was our Outbound Rotary Exchage Student to Spain around 2015.  Read about her progress and next step:
 
Megan is a University of Iowa Presidential Scholar.  In addition to this rare distinction, Megan has now won a Fullbright Scholarship.  Her graduate studies will be in Oceanography in Tromsø, Norway!!
