Sunrise Fall Fundraiser Project Team
Sunrise Rotary Fall Fundraiser is Friday Nov 5.  Lynette has sent donation request forms to all members. Be asking for donations of goods, services, and money.

Why?

This year our major Club expenses could reach $13,000.  (The board has not yet approved all expenses.)

Past years fundraisers have raised nearly this amount.  Our last event in 2019 dipped to $7,500.  We have a challenge to reach!
Looking at this year expenses (not yet approved by the board):
  • 3 District Matching GRANTS this year   $7,367 proposed
  • SCHOLARSHIPS  $1,500 each recent year
  • EXCHANGE STUDENTS (to be decided) $2,800 approx past cost
  • RYLA student awards $400
  • Fall Fundraiser expenses $2-$3,000 for past years
  • Plus AWARDS, all other expense and service activities
Lynette Markofski is leading the fundraiser planning team.  FRIDAYS - 7AM - on ZOOM.  Join on Oct 8, 22, 29.

Global Scholar Applications are Underway
Our Rotary District sponsors a Global Scholar each year.  This provides funding to a graduate student in one of 7 Rotary Areas of Focus, shown below.

Sunrise Rotary has a chance to be the Club sponsor for Nicholas Newman, most recently from AmeriCore at Matthew 25!  We hope you saw his Immigrant Food Research program at our Aug 26 club meeting at Matthew 25.

Nick is starting the application process now, after returning home to California from his project in Cedar Rapids this summer.  He hopes to have his Food Research program published in the future.
