Sign up today to give blood at the Rotary Holiday Donation Challenge!

Give this blood drive number 4178 to the front desk, so they can credit your donation to the Rotary Blood Drive Challenge.

Donate December 12-17 to help the community blood supply build up before the holidays. Donations drop by around 20% during holiday weeks. Your donation will ensure that all patients have the treatment they need no matter what time of year!

All donors will also get their choice of a $10 gift card OR a donation to Feeding America (one donation will provide about 50 meals to those facing hunger)!

How to prepare for your blood donation:

Eat good meals for breakfast and lunch the day of the drive (choose healthy, well rounded meals with lean protein, greens, and whole grains)
Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of the drive (at least 8 glasses of water per day)
Bring your Photo ID

Tips for boosting your iron levels: one to two weeks before the drive, try adding in some foods such as lean meats, plenty of leafy greens, lentils, chickpeas, and whole grains.

Alvaro Pepe - Youth Exchange Update

Alvaro has his parents support to take the 'discover America' youth exchange bus trip after school is out with other exchange students! West to CA, return through AZ, TX... deep south, Orlando, up the east coast to Philadelphia and then back to Chicago. Alvaro is doing well.

Beth and Brian Globokar - host family - took him to Florida during Thanksgiving week. Very special!

He is wrestling (JV) at Kennedy HS, awaiting his (reconditioned) cell phone he earned and purchased. Wrapping up his his trimester-ending school work here and for his Argentina classes.
